External access to buildings has changed from key fobs to a new application called Kindoo. With the Kindoo system activated, fobs will no longer work at any of the buildings; there is no need to turn-in your fob as it will be obsolete. Individuals with callings that need building access receive an email invitation to the Kindoo app and will have immediate access to the building.
Kindoo is very simple to use, and most users have indicated they prefer it to fobs. Kindoo is an electronic building access solution that allows users to enter a building using their smartphone instead of a mechanical key or fob. Using Kindoo will enhance the security of our meetinghouses by providing a simpler way for leaders to manage access.
How does it work? An individual who has been granted building access (based on calling) approaches a door with a Kindoo device installed and opens the Kindoo app on their phone. The user’s smartphone connects to the Kindoo device via Bluetooth, then the application uses the phone’s data connection to check the user’s permissions and unlocks the door.
The Kindoo access system is not specific to our area, it is being installed in many Church buildings throughout the world and will enhance our ability to improve security to our buildings and safety to our members. If you have any questions, please contact your ward building representative.
Respectfully,
The Vancouver East Stake Presidency
